The DivGro Weekly—14.01.22

88 Consecutive dividend increases

This week we received our quarterly dividend from American Tower, and became entitled to our dividends from Abbott Labs and Watsco.

Since DivGro's inception we have predicted and benefited from 88 consecutive dividend increases at an average annual increase rate of 14.4%.

DivGro will be paying investors its 9th consecutive quarterly distribution next week. Remarkably, Watsco - our HVAC distribution juggernaut - is as under-followed as it has been spectacular in compounding its dividend and corresponding share price. Indeed, Watsco occupies rarefied company, being among the top 30 performers in the US over the last 30 years. This demonstrates that it doesn't matter how boring a space might appear to most investors, pundits or commentators, what matters most is the relative positioning of a super-dominant leader in its niche, such as Watsco, against its competition. With a market share greater than its primary competitors combined, a vastly superior cost structure, and with a growing backlog in excess of 110 million HVAC units in need of upgrade or replacement, Watsco's prospects for continued outperformance appear as inevitable as investing allows.
