The DivGro Weekly—03.12.21
84 Consecutive dividend increases
This week Mastercard increased its dividend by 11.4%.
Since DivGro's inception we have predicted and benefited from 84 consecutive dividend increases, with an average annual increase rate of 14.4%.
We also received our dividends from Starbucks, MSCI and Zoetis, and became entitled to our dividend from Home Depot.
Starbucks enjoys a rare two-sided position of privilege. Leveraging peerless scale Starbucks is the lowest-cost operator, while at the same time harnessing its premium brand for upscale pricing. This combination of lowest-cost / premium-price sees Starbucks earn a supernormal profit spread, making it the envy of the quick service restaurant industry (even after funding its pioneering employee benefits scheme and model corporate citizenship activities). This privilege powers ultra-fast new store payback and high returns on capital, leading to a superb dividend growth record. Starbucks has raised its quarterly dividend each year since 2010 at a compounded average annual rate of 21%.
